Room 5 have been learning about
= = = = =  sharing equally = = = = =
and making "fair shares"
Here are some excerpts from some stories the children wrote . . .
HARRISON
One day my friend came to my house and my Mum said we can cut some fruit. I said "Yes" so I cut a big bit for me and a little bit for my friend and my friend said "that's not fair." So the next time I cut it evenly in half and that was fair."

ALEX
Fractions are things what you can chop in half. By cutting things thats how you divide things.

DANIEL SOH
If I didn't share an apple equally it would not be fair. Fractions means sharing parts.

ANYA
On the video they said that cutting it in half was a good idea. Each piece is always fair, if it is the same size

GEORGE
To make quarters everything you need is a knife and an apple. Cut the apple into 4 pieces. Don't worry it won't take a long time. I'm not joking if you don't listen to this rule it may not be fair.

Halves     Quarters     Thirds      Fifths . . . . .
